The rear-wheel-drive Ghibli is offered in four trims, GT, Modena, Trofeo and F Tributo while the all-wheel-drive variant comes in Modena Q4 or F Tributo Q4 versions. Three engines are available on the Ghibli, a 3.0L twin turbo V6 that produces 345 or 424 horsepower depending on the trim and a 3.8L twin turbo V8 that delivers 580 horsepower. Only one transmission is available an 8-speed automatic.
Underneath the lovely steel and aluminum skin, the Ghibli rides on a solid chassis sprung by an alloy suspension with double wishbones up front and a multi-link setup in the rear. The brakes are from Brembo. Maserati claims the base Ghibli offers a perfect 50/50 weight distribution.
Standard equipment includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, dual-zone automatic climate control, adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and ignition, leather upholstery with power seats, heated front seats, a heated power tilt/telescopic steering wheel, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display, rearview camera and an 8-speaker audio system.
The Trofeo and F Tributo also add dark chrome accents, a sport suspension, LED headlights, 21-inch forged aluminum wheels, ventilated front seats, and a 10-speaker sound system.
Standard safety features across the lineup include front and rear parking sensors, an active lane departure and blind spot system, forward collision mitigation, rear collision warning, a pedestrian detection system and a traffic sign information display.
